If that's indeed the case then yes, OP would need to use Bruteforce before opening the files in Gibbed. I believe the latest version of Gibbed can handle encrypted PS3 files as is? Read as such on a few posts around here but of course I could be wrong since I never played on PS3. Find your characters save file(NOT profile data), push triangle, choose copy, and choose your USB stick as copy destination.
